| When i met Bikram Yoga, I was in a bad shape. I had high blood
pressure, eczema, a backache when sleeping, insomnia because of that, really
slow metabolism, constipation, crankiness and whole a lot of stress. I liked
Bikram Yoga because it made all these things fade and eventually go away. It
helped me to focus on myself but nothing else. It helped me to concentrate
what my body needed instead of sweets on commercials and food channels. I
feel much healthier now than 3 years ago when I started bikram yoga. And
more than anything else, I would like to thank Toni, the director of the KM
studio and her staff for all their support so that I kept coming back to the
studio no matter what. Bikram Yoga Kearny Mesa is my home.

Dear Toni:
My son invited me to join him at Bikram's Yoga. At 61, with ankles sore, lower back pained, sharp sciatic sensation on the right side, screaming rotator cuff stiffness in the right arm, high blood pressure and too much weight, I said, "What the hell, I'll try it." March 8 is the day that changed my life, my first day at Bikram's Yoga College of India, Kearny Mesa. You and your staff were terrific - so incredibly positive, encouraging, supportive and generous to me, even when the only thing I could do in most postures was make an honest effort. After 67 days straight, I went to see my doctor. He couldn't believe my report: ankles strong, back pains gone, sciatic gone, rotator cuff free of pain, blood pressure down, weight down, medication down, and attitude up! A transformation for an old guy who now has done 90 minutes of Bikram's Yoga everyday for 110 days in row. Thank you for getting me started. Tell all the seniors who come by that you know a man in his sixties who wasn't happy about getting old before this yoga who now says "bring it on!" 90 minutes a day, 90 years of life. I love it.
With deepest appreciation and gratitude,

I delivered my new baby boy! He weighed a wopping 10 lbs 12 oz and has already gained a pound and an inch a week later.
Thanks to Bikram Yoga, I had tremendous stamina during my labor - especially the 2 1/2 hours of pushing. I used in through the nose/out through the nose breathing and fully recovered between contractions. The thing that stood out the most about my son's birth was that my 1st son was 9 1/2 lbs and he broke both collar bones coming out. This little guy was 10 lbs 12 oz and was perfectly healthy. Part of me wonders if somehow the yoga made him more flexible :) - I'm sure it made my hips much more flexible. I have also heard that Bikram babies are very calm...well, this kid is an angel. He never cries, except when he gets hungry and then he is easily satisfied. When he is awake, he is alert and peaceful. He is a great nurser and sleeper. I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful newborn.
Bikram's yoga prevented me from having neck and upper back pain with this pregnancy (and I suffered with it terribly with my first pregnancy) and helped alleviate and finally remedy my pregnancy induced sciatic pain.
A special thanks to you Toni and your wonderful staff for being so accomodating and encouraging throughout my pregnancy. I truly believe my pregnancy and labor would not have been as easy without Bikram Yoga. I cannot wait to get back in the room!

I just wanted to share with you the results of my bloodwork. My doc is lowering my thyroid meds which is great news, but the truly amazing thing is that my cholesterol is down 57 points from just 6 months ago: from 236 to 179. Since my early 20s when I first started keeping track of my levels it has NEVER been under 215 (and that was when I ran 3-5 miles a day and weighed about 15 pounds less than I do now). My triglyceride levels are now normal which is also a first! I am absolutely amazed!!!
Over the last 30 years I have tried running, weight training, swimming, bicycling and walking. For the last 5 years I have practiced other forms of Yoga besides Bikram Yoga, all of which have had virtually no change in any of my blood chemistry levels. Bikram Yoga is the ONLY thing that has made a difference. And of course I feel sooo good!

| Yoga has made me a stronger, happier, healthier and more focused person. When I was 16 I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. By my second surgery the doctor told me I would be in a wheelchair by the time I was age 50. I'm 64 now and I practice Bikram Yoga almost everyday. Yoga does amazing things for my body and mind, I learned how to breath and let go. I do yoga first and whatever else does comes second. Yoga comes first because I love myself.

I stepped into the yoga room at Bikram Yoga Kearny Mesa for the first time just over one year ago. Initially wanting to lose weight, I thought it would be a good place to try. One year later, I have achieved that goal and so much more than I ever expected! I am in such a better place; physically and emotionally. What I love most are the positive effects this Yoga has on my life. I have more energy, confidence, and I am learning how to breathe! I am also learning to be patient with myself (which is not an easy task)! Learning the poses in an ongoing process and each day is such a different experience. The instructors at this studio are wonderful. Every teacher shows enthusiasm and joy in sharing this yoga with others. When I first started, I was very close to not continuing this practice. I convinced myself it was too hard, too hot, etc.It is not easy! Today, I am so glad I took control of those negative thoughts and made the choice to continue, as the benefits far outweigh the 90 minute challenge!
With thanks to Toni and all of the teaching staff of Bikram Yoga Kearny Mesa,

"I have been practicing Bikram yoga for more than 2 years. Since then I have overcome high blood pressure and no longer need medication as directed by my physician. Also, my asthma has come under control. Bikram yoga has helped me find my inner peace, enabling me to become a more focused, relaxed and confident individual. Additionally, it has changed my physical appearance in a way no other form of exercise that I have experienced before."

"I haven't always been very healthy; now, in large part due to Bikram Yoga, I am in the best shape I have ever been. Diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis at a young age... At the age of thirteen, quite unexpectedly, I had a heart attack. One day I decided to explore forms of exercise to regain control of my health. After a long journey, I discovered Bikram Yoga."

"I started 20 years ago trying to take care of my body. I took jazzercise for 12 years and had to quit because I was experiencing pain in my knees. I would get up in the morning and stretch exercise and yoga for an hour. During the day I would lift weights and walk the dog twice a day up hills. I was exercising 2 to 3 hours a day. I felt all I did was exercise, my body and mind felt unbalanced. Now when I walk out of Bikram Yoga I know that I have exercised my whole body inside and outside. I know that I have added 16 more healthy days to my life with each class, I am happy inside, my knees don't hurt , I have plenty of energy and I don't have to exercise anymore that day. I thought taking 2 hours a day out of my life would crowd my time. I get more done now than before. I wish I would have know about bikram yoga when I was going through menapause."

"I'm 67 years old and I practice almost everyday. I started practicing Bikram yoga at 62. These last 5 years of yoga have done more for my health than anything else before in my life. I have improved muscle tone, blood pressure, and my eyes get better every year - my prescription gets less and less each time. I thought that was amazing!"

"Believe it! Bikrams' Yoga will really improve your life. I have been doing yoga for 3 and a half years and I am constantly learning more about myself through my practice. I have experienced a myriad of benefits from the yoga including increased self confidence, weight-loss, and a happier disposition. The most incredible benefit, however, is how yoga helps me control my anxiety and depression. I started Bikram's Yoga when my anxiety attacks were becoming more severe and I was considering medication. As a person who would prefer to solve my health problems without medication, I started doing yoga instead of meds. Yoga has been the most amazing cure for my anxiety. When I suffer from anxiety, my mind wants to crawl out of my body. But I have found my medicine. By the end of yoga class, my mind feels perfect inside my body. In fact, she loves my body; and my body loves her for getting me to class."

"I've had asthma since I was 2 years old. All my life I've had to take medicine for it. Since I've been practicing Bikram's Yoga my asthma has come under control. I haven't had to use my inhaler for about a year. Bikrams hasn't cured my asthma (asthma really isn't cureable) but it has stregthened my lungs, built up my core strengeh so that I am more able to breathe from my diaphram. It's taught me to keep breathing in the most awkward positions. Holding your breath traps air in your lungs that otherwise could be used for new oxygen. Bikrams is not a magic panacea, you work very hard for 90 minutes. It's worth it when you can breathe easier."

"The most important thing I've learned about yoga is a mental thing - in athletics its about being perfect and winning the race and I always want to win. Yoga has taught me that that idea doesn't work. I charged into yoga wanting to be perfect, forcing my body to do the asanas perfectly - nobody could criticise me cuz I was perfect - I hurt my back doing that and my foot. The yoga didn't do that it was my mental attitude so now I try to pour the cup back and forth slowly between flexibility and stregth and I honor my body and how it feels and know that yoga is a long committment not a race to win. If I honor my body my body will become my friend and I honor my teachers cuz they are my teachers"

"Almost one year ago I took a Bikram's Yoga class for the first time. I was looking for a meditation and relaxation class to lower my blood pressure and to help me lose some weight. That day I thought I was going to die, I couldn't even stay in the room through the whole class. I was ready to quit but I decided I was going to do it until I knew what I was going to be missing. I came 33 days in a row, and today although I am still not able to do all the postures perfectly and even when I can't hold them for the entire 60 seconds I can feel the difference, and my blood pressure is that of a 15 year old even though I am over 50. And I have lost 30 pounds! "

"Bikram Yoga has changed my life on many different levels. The benefits have included: more restful sleep, better diet, better skin texture, more flexibility, an overall better sense of well being and I could go on and on... Of course I must say it is also the most diffcult thing I have ever done in my life but it is well worth all the sweat. I'm learning to be patient and that is probably the biggest gift of all!"

"Bikram Yoga has really helped me with my lower back pain to go away but by sticking with it and coming everyday, 83 days so far, I have seen great improvement, not only in my back but my whole body. Aches and pains appeared and left where there was none before. I'm going for the 100 days and Bikram Yoga for life. Thank you Toni and all the instructors and thank you Bikram."

"One of the greatest benefits of Bikram's Yoga for me is the breath. I've increased my breathing so much that I've increased my mental focus, my physical endurance, my self confidence and my overall enjoyment of life. I did Bikrams Yoga for 6 days a week for 60 days (after spending about 4 weeks working up to it) and it truly changed my life. I would recommend that to everyone who wants to take their health to a whole new level."

"I actually was interested in Yoga because of my chiropractor He told me he did 20 minutes of yoga each day. After my injury I was in physical therapy 2x a week for one year and I also went one more year to my chiropractor. I was always in pain. I decided to look into yoga, although I thought it was a religion. After just 3 weeks I started having a great sleep and woke up exhausted but out of pain. I can only thank all you wonderful teachers for your insight and knowledge that you share with us. I will always remember it. It's always great to know about another choice except a Darvon. I've recognized I needed yoga. I'm out of pain (2 weeks with no medicine). I'm so tickled to feel 48 - well maybe 58 but who cares - I'm 65 years old. I feel so good thanks to my yoga."

"A wonderful workout - the best I ever had ever! I used to run on a track team, 4 miles in the a.m. 2 hours in the gym, 5-10 miles p.m. and I have seen more changes in three sessions than in one month training. Thank You Bikram"
